On 1 January 2004, HECKLER AG in Niefern Öschelbronn acquired a 50 % stake in Zi Kaltumformung GmbH in Oberlungwitz. Oberlungwitz is situated in the state of Saxony between Chemnitz and Zwickau.
Both HECKLER AG and Zi GmbH produce cold extrusion parts made of steel, aluminium and other metallic materials. Customers are from the automobile, building hardware and engineering industries.
HECKLER AG, founded in 1950, employs 160 people and has an annual revenue of approx € 23 million. Zi GmbH, which also arose from a merger, has 70 employees and achieves an annual revenue of about € 5.5 million.
Both companies are specialists for complicated, ready-built cold extrusion parts. Apart from the synergy effects, the merger holds the promise of customer solutions on an even wider basis.
Globalisation and increasingly intense competition were the deciding factors for the merger, which both companies will profit from.
